Genetologic Research Nr. 18: 2004 A.D. Tajimi, Japan was made during a residency in an ancient ceramic workshop in Gifu prefecture, the old center of ceramic production in Japan. I learned to make traditional tea ceremony tea-cups and broke them after firing. The were displayed as contemporary archaeological founds. No one in Japan understood the value of a broken cup although on the antique market, next to my exhibition, single pieces of old ceramic cups were sold for huge sums. The present becomes the past in the future...
