> Public Artwork: 'Modern Menhirs', Arpia 2010, Belgium
Opening: Saturday 11/09/2010
Location: Old brick factory, Kauwstraat, Herzele, Belgium

Next to the old brick factory in Herzele a remarkable discovery too place: several ancient menhirs made from bricks are buried underground in what looks like a circle. Excavation is still taking place and will last at least until September 2010, after which the Modern Menhirs will be shown to the public for the first time. The bricks are made from local clay and are just partly baked. Because of the seemingly close connection to the brick factory nearby the menhirs will be exhibited next to the factory and will remain in Herzele until further notice.
> Exhibition: 'Plastic Reef', Into The Great Wide Open, The Netherlands
Open: Friday 03/09/2010 to Sunday 05/09/2010
Location: Vlieland, a small island on the coast of The Netherlands

With works by: Maarten Vanden Eynde, Eric von Robertson, Ida van der Lee, Sjoukje Gootjes, Marleen Andela, Anne Caesar, Floris Bovee, Titia Ex, Coen Hoogstraten.
The majority of the landscape of the island consists of dunes, but there are some wooded areas and small meadows. A large part of the island, the western part, consists mainly of sand and is referred to as the 'Sahara of the North'. After collecting almost 400 kilo's of plastic during a sailing expedition across the Atlantic Ocean earlier this year, Plastic Reef will be shown for the first time in the Netherlands after it's biggest growth curve ever. Some local trash will be added to the sculpture as well, completing the North Atlantic Reef.
